Forgive me if this post title comes across as sacreligious once you know what I’m talking about.

Recently (last three or four months) I’ve been on two different quests which have taken me all over the internet and to various stores. The objects of my search, good shoes for Claire and my dream stroller. Now, I have my dream stroller but once baby #2 arrives, it will not meet my needs. I’ve looked at so many strollers it makes my head spin. Josh and I are pretty much against a side by side because, from what I’ve observed, they are difficult to manuever and take up a lot of space, not to mention getting through doors. After talking with a couple of people, we had pretty much settled on a Phil & Ted, probably the Dash.

The stroller meets the inline criteria. It pushes decently, has adequate cargo space and a five point harness for houdini baby (Claire). After reading some reviews and visiting the stroller instore, I was content. Out of my options, this seemed to meet the most criteria. Reading reviews I was a little less excited but optimistic nonetheless. The reviews said it could be difficult to push with two and you must use two hands (a challenge for me when walking Lola). The sun coverage was a huge concern, their shade is skimpy and doesn’t do anything for the child seated below. The third consistent complaint was it felt chincy, not well made. Oh and one more, when using the doubles kit, for taller people they had to adjust their stride so as not to kick the back seat.

You may be asking yourself, since Claire is walking, why would I even need a stroller for two. We try and walk 2-3 miles every day that I am not working for my personal exercise and for Lola. Because of that and all the going that Josh and I like to do, a two seated stroller is a must.

So, Friday, I took Josh to Right Start to see the Dash and push it around to get his opinion. He was ok with it, not to excited and he didn’t hate it. While trying to show him the features of the stroller something caught his eye. (here’s where the heavenly music comes in).

Introducing the Baby Jogger City Select. This stroller is almost exactly like my current stroller with another seat attached. Great sun coverage, storage space is not compromised by a second passenger, kids can face each other, face me, face forward, or a combination. The push handle adjust up higher than Phil & Ted, its sturdy, folds down well, has a car seat adapter. I am in HEAVEN! The only negative review I was able to find so far was from a mom who bought it for her twins and was having a challenge getting a second car seat adapter.

Ok, heavenly voices part two. Claire’s shoes. I have been unsatisfied with the run of the mill baby shoes and searching for something that allows Claire flexibility and movement but has a good sole so she can walk around outside.

See Kai Run get good reviews and are exactly what I was looking for. Claire loves walking around in them. They are a little pricey but I figure we can spring for one pair each shoes size (I only buy whole sizes) and they have great resale on ebay so, Yay for See Kai Run!
