This is the second really good day in the last two weeks. That is not to say that there haven’t been other good days but these two stand out. Conor fussiness was at a relative minimum (mostly because I figured out the Moby Wrap hip hold so he can come along with me while I run around the house). Claire and I seemed to be insync and “no” was a lesser favorite word today, defiance less as well. I love days like this of course it only encourages my have a tribe of children mantra which really freaks poor Josh out.

Claire teaching little man how to drive.

We had a productive day, which is always nice for me, but aside from that it was just a great day with the kids, Claire in particular. This morning we took a walk in the fog. Claire walked most of the way, chasing Lola a bit and pretending to hide behind bushes, poles and nothing. We tackled our small accumulation of recycling. Counting it up was a task and a half because Claire was chanting out random numbers next to me. We turned in the recycling and used the cash to wash the car. We opted for the drive thru one because of the cool fog.

Claire likes to take pictures with her “passy cam.”
Back at home Claire and I prepared lunch while Conor (momentarily ok with not being held) played on the floor. Claire is a great kitchen helper if I can keep her from sampling all the fixins. Today we made homemade tortillas and cheese. Claire enjoyed the tortilla press and of her work she kept saying “mmm its delicious. Good job.” GiGi surprised me with lunch so we spent a little time with her. Then it was down for naps with the kiddos and I went to work for a couple hours. After a nap interrupted by a coughing fit (Claire has an ear infection and some respiratory residual old thing going on) we made dinner together. Again, great helper as long I could keep her from eating all the food.

arrrr matey, Little Man Conor.
Once Conor was up we played the three, er four (Lola) together until Josh came home. Off to the gym for me, Josh fed the kids. We bathed the kids, put them down and now are gearing up to hang out a bit. A good day. Thank you Lord for my family and days like this.
Its Saturday night, the pantry and fridge display the telltale end of the week picked over look, Josh is on his way home from an all day field trip. What do we do for dinner? Although pizza is what appealed to me, with kids in tow, picking up a pizza is no longer the easy option. So we shall dine in, easier and more economical. What do we have in the fridge and pantry? Goat cheese, eggs, left over garlic roasted asparagus, bisquick, berries. Looks like breakfast for dinner!
I couldn’t have prepared the meal without the assistance of my cute and talented sous chefs!

Goat cheese and asparagus eggs.

Claire grabbed the apron on her own and insisted on helping. She did a great job beating the eggs. If I could guess what Conor was thinking, it would be something like this “oh please oh please just give me a bite…ok maybe more than a bite.”

“ok…you won’t give me a bite, I guess my hand will just have to do.”
Thanks to my helpers we had a yummy meal waiting for Josh when he got home.
